Assignment was to create 3 ads to promote the G-Shock watch. G-Shock is a very tough watch, but the idea behind this campaign was to emphasize the cool and fun factors. I created an illustration in order to allow the viewer to put himself in the place of the surfer. This was accomplished by showing a surfer flying through the air in a greater than life colorful setting. The use of an illustration makes this ad stand out from the typical athete photo found in sports magazines.
